FIRE EXTINGUISHER
Driver and Supervisor should have adequate knowledge of how and when to use Fire extinguisher?
Fire Extinguisher should be placed in accessible place.
The expiry date and condition needs to be checked by the driver and supervisor periodically.
Ensure the replacement of Fire Extinguisher before the expiry date.
FIRST AID KIT
First Aid Box is compulsory in each vehicle at all the times.
The expiry dates of all the medicines needs to be checked periodically and must be changed before the expiry.
The driver and the supervisor should have basic knowledge of the medicines purpose & use.
Basic item’s list of medicines :-
- Band-Aid.
- Cotton
- Antiseptic liquid
- Soframycin
- Bandage roll
TRAFFIC discipline
Drivers should adhere to Traffic rules and follow traffic Signals.
Fastening of the seat belt is must for driver as well as employee in co-driver seat.
Do not over take from the wrong side. Proper and careful Use of indicators.
Should refer the traffic sign boards.
Driver must possess all valid legal documents in the vehicle.
Driver should not use no-entry road as a short cut.
No chewing/spitting of tobacco while driving.
Offer the side to others to overtake from the right.
Use of handfree while driving.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Brakes and clutch to be checked before driving.
Wipers should be functional.
Rear/front lights, indicators, fog lamps should be working.
Spare tyre should be available in proper condition.
Driver should not be under influence of alcohol while on duty.
Rear view mirror should be in serviceable condition.- other use also apart from seeing back seaters
Use of seat belt by driver and co-driver seat occupant is mandatory.
Do not over speed.
Don’t allow Non-employees to board the vehicle while on duty.
Driver should immediately report to Supervisor/Transport helpdesk in case of any emergency & if he feels sleepy/unwell or unfit to drive.
Should maintain safe inter vehicle distance.

GENERAL DISCIPLINE
ONSITE
Display ID- Card all the time inside Office premises.
Do not spit around in the premises.
Do not use abusive language.
Supervisor should align their respective vehicles and report to transport helpdesk in case of any replacement.
Supervisor should ensure that the Drivers’ park their vehicles at the designated area only.
Drivers/Supervisors to abide and co-operate with the Security personnel during security checks.
OFFSITE
Converse politely with the Employees.
Do not indulge in private conversations with Employees.
Don’t do undue favors to Employees.
Immediately report any incidence to Transport helpdesk.
Do not divert the vehicle on any Employee’s instruction.
Do not allow any Non Employee to board the vehicle.
Tracking/ Clubbing
Supervisors have to Track & align each bus for the pick & drop duty allotted as per the schedule.
Any discrepancy needs to be reported to Transport helpdesk immediately.
Supervisors should be well conversant with geographical knowledge of areas to ensure right clubbing.
Increasing Fuel Efficiency
Lighten the Load- Do not keep unwanted materials in the trunk.
Slow Down- Economic Speed 60Km/h.
Accelerate Smoothly Moderate throttle.
Avoid Often breaking.
Set tyres to recommended inflation.
Tune up the engine through regular Servicing.
Regular Checking of the 'Air Filter' and 'Fuel Filter' as per the Manufacturers recommended schedule.
Avoid excessive Idling.
Switch of the engine in case of dense traffic jams/Long duration at signals.
Pollution Control
Every driver should ensure:-
a) Correct tyre pressure
b) Timely servicing as recommended
c) Avoid adulterated diesel filling
d) Avoid riding the clutch
e) Avoid frequent gear change
f) PUC compliance

Using a horn
Only use a horn to:
warn other road users of on-coming danger, or make them aware of your presence for safety reasons when reasonably necessary.
Remember, the horn does not give you the right of way.
Do not use a horn in a built-up area between 23.30hrs and 07.00hrs unless there is a traffic emergency.
